Adrián Mejía – WordPress Contribution Project

In this stage of the project, I defined the approach I would follow to complete my contribution to the WordPress Credits program.

Initially, I explored the different contribution areas available within the WordPress ecosystem. These included areas such as Core, Plugins, Themes, Documentation, and Testing. After reviewing these options, I selected the Core contribution area, specifically focusing on testing activities.

The reason for choosing this area was to gain practical experience working directly with the WordPress Core and to understand how real issues are identified, analyzed, and validated within an open-source project.

Additionally, working in testing allowed me to participate without needing to develop new features, but instead focus on validating existing functionality and ensuring the stability of the system.

As part of the planning process, I also reviewed how contributions are managed in WordPress through tools such as Trac, which is used to track issues and coordinate development efforts.

This planning stage helped establish a clear direction for the project and ensured that the work performed would align with the objectives of the WordPress Credits program.
