Adrián Mejía – WordPress Contribution Project

This project allowed me to understand the real impact of open-source software and collaborative development.

Contributing to WordPress Core showed me how large communities work together to improve software that is used by millions of people worldwide.

I learned that contributions are not limited to writing code. Testing, documenting, and validating fixes are also essential parts of the development process.

This experience also helped me understand the importance of communication in open-source projects, especially when working through platforms like Trac.

From a broader perspective, this project connects with the concepts of Computación y Sociedad, as it highlights how technology is built collectively and how individuals can contribute to global digital ecosystems.

It also reinforced the idea that open-source projects create opportunities for learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Overall, this experience was valuable not only technically, but also in understanding the social and collaborative aspects of computing.
